Manage Your Subscription
Everything about your subscription — paying for a plan, buying add-ons, moving between tiers, and cancelling — is self-serve from Account → Billing. The two walkthroughs below show the full flow end to end.
For the written reference, see Upgrade to Paid Plan and How Billing Works.
Paying for Bitquery products
Covers the four-step checkout — Choose plan → Plan configuration → Review & pay → Done:
- Picking a plan, and switching between monthly and annual billing (annual saves 20%)
- Top-up credits — API points, stream data, stream-minutes, and MCP credits. These are recurring: they refill each billing period rather than being a one-time bucket.
- Historical (archive) data add-ons, bought per chain and dataset family. Your plan covers realtime on a rolling window; the archive add-on is what unlocks full history. Use the ⓘ on any add-on to see the exact datasets, cubes and time scope it unlocks.
- Reviewing the service agreement and paying by card through Stripe
Upgrading, downgrading and cancelling
Covers changing an existing subscription from the Billing page:
- Change Plan — the tier comparison, and what moving up actually buys you (streaming, for example, is off on Personal and starts at Pro)
- Manage Add-Ons — adding capacity or data access without changing tier
- Upgrades are charged pro rata. When you upgrade or add an add-on mid-cycle, you are only charged for the days remaining in your current period, and the exact amount is finalized by Stripe before you pay. From your next renewal, the full amount bills as one normal monthly subscription.
- Downgrades take effect at your next renewal, so you keep everything you have already paid for until the period ends. Nothing is charged at the time of the downgrade.
- Cancelling stops the renewal — no further payments. Your current period and any remaining points stay available until the period end date shown on the cancellation page. No refund is issued for the current period.
If the issue is price or volume rather than the product, a downgrade or a plan sized to your actual usage is usually the better answer. Unlimited streams, custom limits, private endpoints and chains that are not available self-serve are all part of Enterprise — talk to sales or email sales@bitquery.io.
