Coinpath® for Ledger-Based Networks
Payment ledgers such as Stellar and the Ripple XRP Ledger add complexity that account-based and UTXO chains do not have:
- A payment can be sent in one currency and received in another. The money flow graph must track the conversion between addresses.
- One payment can convert through several currencies. Every conversion inside a single transaction must be tracked.
- A currency can have several issuers. USD issued by one gateway is not the same asset as USD issued by another, and the graph must keep them apart.
- The Ripple API does not expose every transfer inside a transaction. The graph has to infer transfers that are not explicit in the ledger data.
How Coinpath® adapts
- Every transfer has separately defined sent and received amounts, each with its own currency, and they may differ.
- Pre-processing extracts every value transfer between addresses, including those that happen implicitly inside a transaction.
- The graph allows edges with different currencies on the same path.
- The same address may appear on level N and level N+1 when it transfers to itself as a result of trading.
- Only taker trades appear in the money flow. The maker side is not part of the path.
In MoneyFlow Lite, Ripple XRP Ledger is available in the Blockchain dropdown.
